Thought they'd come from space? Wrong! It's up to you to stop the alien invasion from the depths of the ocean in X-Out: Resurfaced, an 80s shoot 'em up faithfully remade for modern platforms!
Redesigned : In 1990, the year of its release on C64, X-Out appeared as a breath of fresh air in the somewhat confined world of shoot 'em ups.
Freediving : Unlike so many other games of the genre, it did not take place in space, but offered a dive into underwater worlds.
Water-shop : But what set it apart from its side-scrolling competitors was its shop system, which allowed players to customize their fleet with a wide selection of ships, weapons, and accessories. This made every game different.
Redesigned : The impressive sprite work of yesterday has not only been transformed into modern high-resolution sprites, but has also been enhanced with new particle and lighting effects. You will rediscover the 8 varied levels, enemies, bosses, ships, and projectiles in a new light!
Remixed : In addition to this new visual adventure, you'll also embark on a sonic adventure: epic synth tracks by the excellent Chris Hülsbeck will accompany you on your journey. In addition to his remastered tracks, we've created three brand-new tracks.
Remembered : Hülsi isn't the only one returning for this remake: Ogan Kandemiroglu, the brother and co-artist of the late Celal Kandemiroglu, who designed X-Out's iconic graphics, has reprised the role as a tribute to him in this remake.
Re-Equipped : The shop system is back, and it's been improved: new pre-configured loadouts let you jump right into the action, item descriptions have been added to help new cadets configure their fleet, and we've FINALLY marked the available slots for your weapons.
Enhanced : If X-Out's difficulty proves too steep for you, you can bring on a co-captain. Enlist a friend and face the horrors of the abyss with 2 players in local co-op!
