No one expected Vampire Survivors to burst onto the indie scene the way it did. Poncle’s debut title combined bullet-hell roguelike gameplay with a sassy but undeniably radical gothic aesthetic to create a blend that players couldn’t put down. Since the game’s debut, countless deadly hours have been spent firing all manner of projectiles at all manner of undead in graveyards, haunted mansions, wild forests, and beyond. And every single one of those hours has been made even richer by Vampire Survivors’ incredible soundtrack.

Part Sendup, part Tribute, but still entirely original, Survivors’ synth-heavy soundtrack, created by super duo Daniele Zandara and Will Davies, harks back to the vampire-hunting franchises of yesteryear. But it does so in a thoroughly modern sonic environment, exploring things that were impossible with old sound chips. The resulting music is epic, nostalgic, and unexpected, filled with sweeping riffs and high-impact drum fills.

iam8bit loves to live at the intersection of nostalgia and new wave (not to mention the intersection of send and sincerity), which is why we couldn’t wait to bring you this album. This is the Vampire Survivors Vol.1 2xLP, a curated collection of your favorite songs, themes, and tracks from Poncle’s hellish beauty. In keeping with the theme and aesthetic, we pressed these songs on crimson-tinted Blood Splatter red vinyl.

Plus: the cover art, which speaks for itself, with illustrator Nimit Malavia perfectly capturing the vibe of Vampire Survivors with a track so powerful and wicked your middle school trapper keeper doodles could only dream of being this cool. It all comes together to create a radical, undead-killing, garlic-eating vinyl masterpiece.
