Bear McCreary , known for his incomparable ability to world-build and use innovative musical approaches in the worlds of television, film and video games, will guide audiences through the major events of the Second Age of Middle-earth, as they appear in the upcoming series. Working at the famous Abbey Road Studios as well as AIR Studios and the Synchron Stage in Vienna, he recorded and composed hours of music for the score, weaving his original themes into a tapestry of sound for a full symphony orchestra, as well as as folk instruments and choir singers.

“JRR Tolkien's breathtaking novels and their film adaptations have had a profound impact on my imagination for most of my life,” Mr. McCreary said. “I am honored to compose the music that will help guide viewers through the major events of the Second Age of Middle-earth.”

Legendary composer Howard Shore has composed scores for some of the world's most memorable and famous films and television series. Respected worldwide for his passion for the works of JRR Tolkien, he is perhaps best known for his work on the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit film trilogies.

The soundtrack to the first season of the Amazon original series also includes two performances by the actors of Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power - Sophia Nomvete (Princess Disa) on the title "A Plea to the Rocks" and "This Wandering Day", sung by Megan Richards (Poppy Proudfellow).
