Maestro Maclaine Diemer, a stalwart of the franchise for the past decade, dreams big and soars, assembling a super team of Korean musicians, singers, and specialists to create this album’s absolutely brilliant arrangements. This is the pinnacle of orchestral majesty, not only for Guild Wars, but for video game soundtracks of the last decade—an album that BAFTAs and other awards would do well to pay attention to.
This is epic music peppered with decadent undertones, where closing your eyes draws you into a whirlwind of wind through instrumental incantations rarely heard in productions outside of Korea. “The Cycle Ends” is one of many particularly transcendent and unexpected tracks, enchanted by instrumental grandeur and the woven tapestry of wonderful traditional Korean opera chants . And let’s just say that if the title track, “A World Without You,” doesn’t give you goosebumps, then your soul has a leaky valve. Continuing the tradition that began with Heart of Thorns and Path of Fire, iam8bit is very proud to team up with ArenaNet for this third vinyl installment of Guild Wars 2.
