The kingdom of Myrtana is invaded by a merciless horde of orcs.
In need of a large quantity of magical ores in order to forge weapons of great power against the invaders, King Rhobar II decides to put all the prisoners of the kingdom to work in the mines of Khorinis.
In order to prevent any escape, the monarch calls upon his best magicians to create a magical barrier around the mines. But due to an incident, the magic soon becomes uncontrollable and a mutiny breaks out among the prisoners, creating anarchy where the most dangerous then take control of the mines.
The king now finds himself forced to negotiate with these new leaders, while tensions rise among the different factions within the mines. No one suspected that the arrival of a mysterious prisoner would change everything.
