Audiences lucky enough to catch the film during its special theatrical preview have already discovered that this highly anticipated sequel is nothing short of epic—and that’s due in no small part to Nathan Johnson’s expansive, beautiful score. Johnson maintains the delicate balance that made KNIVES OUT such a clever score, never downplaying the danger lurking around every corner, but he also brings an intoxicating romanticism to each gorgeous landscape. It’s both playful and sinister.
“I’m thrilled to announce the release of my Glass Onion score on vinyl, but more importantly, I’m thrilled to once again partner with the wonderful people at Mondo,” says Johnson. “Everything they do is unique, but for this release, they’ve gone even further. We’ve mastered this version specifically for vinyl so that it retains all of the orchestral dynamics that I put into the score, and I can’t wait for people to get their hands on it and peel away all of the beautiful layers. I know we live in a world of digital ephemera, but I’ll say it over and over again: Thank goodness for Mondo.”
The packaging, carefully designed by Jay Shaw and Mo Shafeek, pays homage to the film’s central mystery in multiple ways. Pressed on 2x 140 Gram Crystal Clear vinyl, it is presented in a die-cut jacket, with an acrylic card and numerous inserts.
